We analyzed the Live betting data, in the interest of making sure we PROTECT all our users from “questionable” behavior…

And what we found - users were often creating LIVE bets during action (not on timeout, not in between quarters) mid play - Why does this matter?

Well, they were creating a 90-second bet and canceling it instantly if the Odds/Lines moved away from them, and leaving it if the Odds/Lines changed in their favor! Not against the rules, but also not ideal.

We found a solution: Let. Me. Explain. All Live bets 90 seconds for most sports (60 seconds for UFC, 180 seconds for Golf) now cannot be cancelled for 30 seconds!!

LIVE & P2P will always be tricky, the goal here isn’t to punish bet creators - far from it - it’s to encourage the behavior we always wanted, for everyone:

LIVE should be used on BetOpenly during Timeouts, End of Quarters, In Between Sets, Rounds, etc. We won’t stop anyone from Live betting when they want. But, we will absolutely always make product updates to HELP ensure Better Lines and Odds are found on BetOpenly.com
