BetOpenly: Update to Parlays
My Degens, My Degens,
BetOpenly’s goal is always to remove the house, and get our users better lines and odds, while also providing an efficient marketplace! Our #1 complaint is and will probably always be unfilled bets.
The reason for this email is to make sure everyone understands how Parlays work and explain all updates affecting our family.
Most* books pay around +260 if two legs of a parlay are -110 each.
While the “true math” on a 50/50 two-legger is +300.
BetOpenly had +300 originally and it didn’t work, many users asked what’s the point of “Housing” a Parlay with zero edge and stopped doing so. And Parlay bettors pinged me saying I just want my Parlays filled - and better odds is a bonus (obviously paraphrasing).
TL;DR - To meet in the middle, we are updating 2 leggers at +100, +100 to +280.
This gets our users (in theory), $15 better (on a $100 bet) than the same bet at a book. It also gives the Host/Houser a mathematical edge to put up the larger payout amounts!
We see it as a Win/Win and hope you do too. We also understand if our Parlays aren’t for you.
We are also “Un-Verifying” ✅(removing the ) from any Parlays not paying better than the Books.
And last, but not least, the biggest mistake most make, myself included, is plugging in our odds into the Calculator. What you should do is plug the EXACT bet from a Book into a Calculator vs our payout!
Ex. Look at our Risk / Wins / Pays
And then look at a Books!
Our goal is to pay more than the books while still enticing users to House your bets! 🤙 Reply with any questions.
